Resources

Throughout the school year, I will add resources to this page that may benefit your students! I will try to let you know in the newsletter when this page is updated.

 

If you use anything at home already that may be beneficial  to other families/students, please feel free to share it to me to add it to this page.  

  • Alphabet flashcards

    • If student masters letter identification, use the ​flashcards to master letter sounds. 

  • Short vowel books 

  • Wixie apps and Clever​​

    • Get in with username and password on sheet sent home. ​

  • Xtra math 

    • Log into clever with username and password and then open new window for Xtra math. ​

  • ABC Ya!

  • Starfall

  • Free online educational resources. 

  • This is a link that I found that suggests great educational shows to watch on Netflix. (I have always been a huge fan of The Magic School Bus) 

  • Raz Kids.  Click the green button that says “Kids Login” Teacher username will be “mcook90”. Please find your child’s name and type in their password. (password is child's name all lowercase) This is a resource we use a lot in class and will help with their reading fluency and comprehension.  

  • PWCS Home Learning Resources. On this page you will find a recommended schedule and K-2 online resources. 

  • Every morning, the kids got into a routine doing a "Morning Meeting" playlist. The students loved this part of the morning so I thought I would share the playlist with parents to do at home. Simply project it on your TV or computer and enjoy their singing and dancing!

  • Five Ponds Books is a new resource for science and social studies. These books are for K through 3rd grade and have multiple topics within each grade level. Click the button below and use the username: GravelyS and password: 28641S. Let me know if you have any troubles. 

  • 30 Day Lego Challenge

  • Use Cheerios or your student's favorite cereal to count to 100. 

    • Make groups of 10 with the cereal and count by 10s 

    • Make groups of 5 with the cereal and count by 5s 

    • Make two piles of the cereal and determine which pile has more, which one has less

  • Read a book of your child's choice and ask them to retell the story. 

    • What happened in the beginning, middle, end?​

    • Who were the characters in the story?

    • What was the setting?

    • What was the problem? What was the solution?

    • Have them write a sentence and draw a picture about their favorite part. 

  • Simple math fact flashcards
